Absorbing like a champ. |
After the few great days in the East-Tirol it has yet been dry and warm. Nevertheless, we have had few really fun days at the mountains. It has been an endless hunt for snow and new lines to ski. What I have found the most enjoyable about this time, is the fact that we have still been laughing and having fun every single trip we have done. It's been all about skiing tourist lines in Stubai, on-piste training in Kuhtai, one-run-wonders in Axams and two awesome days with sunshine and cruising in Ischgl. I truly believe that I have became a better skier and have learned to enjoy more and more skiing on frankly, shit snow.
For todays (Sunday) achievements Bernie showed his talent for editing and the end result is really amazing! Check it out:
Our original group is finally back together as Rupis' attempt to invade Asia is finally over! It is great to have the group of diverse idiots shredding the mountains together yet again. It is great to have Rupi and his continuous grin back!

Rupi eating shit! |
This week Innsbruck has been extremely warm, even so warm that I have been running outside in shorts - SHORTS in FEBRUARY? This Friday was warmer than an average summer day back home. Thanks to the Föhn-wind. Therefore, we have had few drives to the west. As Silveretta seems to get some of massive amounts of snow in Southern France, Ischgl has been a good choice for skiing. Even thought the visibility and form of snow hasn't been that favourably, every single one of us has been grinning while stuffing our faces full of junk food at Burger King.

Clouds filling the valley! |
The first day at Ischgl we had some interesting snow, or to be honest more like crust. I was cruising on my long El Capos and they found out to be just amazing on the large fields a I was able to cruise them full speed with long radiuses. Only thing that I noticed was that having too much pressure on the tips was bound to shove the tip underneath the crust with bad consequences. Having metal layers helps a lot on the semi icy and/or hard packed snow as it absorbs the vibrations and gives more feeling of being in control!
Today I was cruising with my new Patrons and they are just the right choice for cruising between the bumps. I had loads of fun cruising on-piste and charging around the bits of snow we found between the slopes. The first run of the day I was carving full on with the 115mm wide skis on piste - so much fun!
